Just like in the World Cup, the PokerStars Blog #PokerCup is now down to the quarter finals.
Eight players remain, representing their countries in what is clearly the most important tournament being played anywhere in the world right now.

But who's still in? Let's take a look at the quarter final match-ups to be played out on Twitter (using the hashtag #PokerCup) next week:
Igor Kurganov (Russia) vs Carlos Mortensen (Spain)
Betrand 'ElkY' Grospellier (France) vs Gus Hansen (Denmark)
Viktor Blom (Sweden) vs Fedor Holz (Germany)
Stephen Chidwick (England) vs Davidi Kitai (Belgium)
As you can see, there are some stellar matches set. Kurganov is the sole representative of the PokerStars red spade still in contention, but he has tough competition from Spanish legend Carlos Mortensen. Meanwhile, ElkY vs Hansen is sure to be a close call, as is Chidwick vs Kitai.
But perhaps the most exciting clash of them all is Viktor Blom vs Fedor Holz. Two firm favourites in this tournament, Blom just pipped Andre Akkari in the poll to advance, while Holz sailed through versus Stefan Huber.

Can Kurganov take it down?
